Letter to the editor policy
Letters to the Editor are published to foster open discussion of ideas, letters to the editor will not only be accepted, but also encouraged. All letters must be typewritten and signed by the author. In addition to a signature, the author’s name must be printed or typed. A campus or local telephone number must also be included for verification purposes. If the writer of a letter has a compelling reason, his/her name may be withheld from publication at the discretion of the editor. A legitimate compelling reason would be that by revealing his/her name, the writer would be put into jeopardy of harm or losing a job. The View reserves the right to edit all submissions for length, style, and standards of good taste.
